County Support

Monetary Donations:

The United Way of Haywood County is managing all monetary donations to support recovery efforts following Tropical Storm Helene. Online: https://www.uwhaywood.org/. By Mail: Send checks to PO BOX 1139, Waynesville, NC 28786. Please note "Tropical Storm Helene Relief" in the memo line. 

Supply Donations:

Donations can be made at Woodland Baptist Church, 545 Crabtree Rd, Waynesville, where they are accepting non-perishable food items, bottled water, and other essential supplies. For a complete list of needed items and information on individual and organization volunteer opportunities, visit theorchardnc.com/relief.  

If you are in need of supplies:

Woodland Baptist Church at 545 Crabtree Rd, Waynesville; Bethel Elementary School at 4700 Old River Rd, Canton; or Jonathan Valley Elementary School at 410 Hall Dr, Waynesville. Supplies can be picked up Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM. 

The First Aid Bus, located at Jukebox Junction, 6306 Pigeon Rd, Canton, is open from 9 AM to 5 PM, offering services such as first aid for cuts, scrapes, and burns, as well as blood pressure checks, blood sugar monitoring, and basic medical assistance. 

If you are in need of food and/or water:

Water tankers are available at Jukebox Junction, 6306 Pigeon Rd, Canton and Crabtree Ironduff VFD, 99 Susie Noland Rd, Clyde from 8 AM to 6 PM. Each person is limited to 1 gallon per day, and you must bring your own containers. Food will be served daily at 2 p.m. The center has water, power, charging stations, shovels, trash bags, and pet food available. 

Springdale Golf and Country Club, 190 Golfwatch Road, Canton, is offering free lunch from 11 am – 3 pm.  

Crestview Baptist Church, 3258 Pisgah Dr, Canton, is operating a food truck that serves meals twice a day—at 12 PM and 5 PM—to anyone in need, including first responders.

New Covenant Church in Clyde has supplies for folks who need them.

Other resources:

First United Methodist Church in Waynesville, at 566 S Haywood St, has opened a Welcome Center to assist community members in need. The center is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and offers food, clothing, and shower access. 

Fines Creek Community Center, located at 190 Fines Creek Rd, Clyde, is available to assist community members in need as a welcome center.
