Pottery: Advanced Open Studio
Instructor: Christina Bendo
Location: Sycamore Bdg, RM 7221
This six-week class is perfect for those who have already taken Beginning or Intermediate Wheel Throwing, the Hand Building Basics class, or equivalent elsewhere, and are looking to continue to hone their skills. At the start of the class students will identify a project to work on or skills to improve, and work at their own pace to create projects of their choosing. Examples of projects and goals could include learning to throw larger amounts of clay on the wheel, further exploration of using templates to slab build various forms, or diving into surface design with texture and carving. Class size is limited so that students receive plenty of one-on-one instruction as they work on their projects. Cost includes one bag of clay, use of classroom glazes and kiln firing. Tools are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if preferred.
