An ornate jar made by indigenous American pottersInstructor: Christina Bendo

Location: Sycamore Bdg, RM 7221

Students will learn about pottery traditions of indigenous people of North and South America. This class will allow students to make pots and animal figures with coil building techniques, explore the use of natural tools and learn to process native clay from our region to use as natural pigment. Decorations will be done with brushwork that incorporates your personal iconography or patterns of interest. The firing technique will be completed in a smoke firing to mimic the traditional bonfire firings done by ancient and modern indigenous potters.
