Pottery Around the World: Asia

Students will learn about various pottery traditions of Japan, Korea, and China. This class will allow students to create a slab built teapot in the Yixing style, carve a kurinuki tea bowl and learn about principles of wabi and sabi. Additional techniques will include building an abstracted coil pot or figure, Korean sanggam inlay techniques and fire tea bowls in raku kiln.
