Pottery: Glaze Creation

This class is designed for intermediate to advanced students who would like to learn about mixing and formulating their own glazes. We will discuss basic glaze chemistry, choose recipes to test, and as a class create a triaxial blend of colors. We will discuss our results as a group and choose several of our favorite glazes to put on small test cups.
1. Make test tiles, test cups discussion about glaze mixing, safety
2. Mix line blend
3. Mix triaxial blend
4. Week off
5. Look at color results, each student picks one glaze to mix and test on test cup
