Pottery: Raku Rodeo
Instructor: Christina Bendo
Location: Sycamore Bdg, RM 7221
Students will participate in the exciting interactive firing process known as raku! We will do American style raku with color changing glazes, horsehair raku, and obvara, otherwise known as Baltic raku. Students must be able to make basic thrown or hand built pots on their own; as this is a firing focused process and I will not be teaching how to throw or build with clay. Students should come to our firing classes dressed in natural fiber clothing, with long pants and a long sleeved shirt, and closed toed shoes required for taking hot pots out of the kiln. We have leather gloves and other protective equipment available.
