The goal of this course is to introduce students to the practices, processes, and techniques involved with Japanese Papermaking, related tools, and fibers. The objective is to have students begin to master the process of Japanese hand papermaking. Note: Students must obtain additional supplies for this course, listed below. Students cannot purchase supplies, materials, and/or books from the instructor.

  • Wood, Screen, thread, and Su (mats)- $50 - (these items can be purchased at various hardware stores and the instructor will provide a
    detailed list at the first meeting)
  • Miscellaneous Materials- can be purchased as needed or wanted.
