Building Beehives is a fun and instructive 5-week course designed for practicing beekeepers who are interested in building their own hive boxes. Prior knowledge of power tools and equipment is helpful but not required. This course requires previous beekeeping experience! Subjects covered will include hive body types (Langstroth, Horizontal, Top Bar, NUC, and Observation), hive equipment, and use of power/hand tools. In addition, students will receive practical experience by constructing beehives, assembling frames, and choosing the proper stand for the application. This course will focus primarily on the Top Bar and Horizontal hive body designs.
