Getting started at Haywood Community College is easy and our team is here to help you every step of the way.
HCC is an open-door institution, which means all qualified applicants will be accepted. We offer high-quality, affordable education with expert faculty and numerous scholarship opportunities. Our two-year associate degree programs, certificates, and diplomas offer the ability for students to take courses in-person or online. If you’re looking to gain new skills for the workforce or would like to take up a hobby, we offer continuing education classes, which are typically non-credit short-term courses. HCC also offers courses for high school and home school students, as well as adults returning to earn their high school equivalency diploma.

HCC is pleased to offer numerous continuing education classes for our community. Whether you’re looking to upskill or learn a new hobby, our short-term courses can help with your enrichment goals.
To register for a course,
- Register in person at the Hemlock building on HCC’s main campus from 8:00am – 5:00pm M-Th, 8:00am – 4:00pm Fridays.
- Register via mail by sending a check and registration form to HCC 2-3 weeks prior to the class start date to Student Services, 185 Freedlander Dr., Clyde, NC 28721
High School Programs
Haywood Community College offers a variety of programs for students looking to start their college journey during their high school years.
Haywood Early College is a high school program located on the campus of HCC. Under the Haywood County Schools umbrella, students can obtain their high school and college credential in approximately 5 years.
Career and College Promise offers high schools the opportunity to follow a pathway
in a certain course focus and take college courses while attending high school – all
tuition free.
