Early Childhood Education program receives recognition
Haywood Community College ranked as one of the best Early Childhood Education Associate Degrees.
In an article released early February 2024 by Forbes Advisor, Haywood Community College was ranked as one of the best online Associate Degree programs for Early Childhood Education.
The Early Childhood Education program focuses on child development from birth through age 8. Educational programs provide curriculum surrounding developmental milestones, interactive lessons, and working in childcare environments. One element that makes HCC’s program so unique is the partnership with the on-campus childcare facility, the Regional Center for the Advancement of Children. Early Childhood Education students are able to work directly with this center for hands-on learning opportunities which are an invaluable part of the lessons learned in the classroom.
To be ranked on the list by Forbes, a variety of elements were examined. These include online course availability, tuition rates, student retention rates, graduation rate and other important factors such as delivery methods, full-time and part-time options, available concentrations, and more.
Haywood Community College was chosen due to a combination of tuition rates, retention and graduation rates, the offering of three different degrees with specific concentration areas and online course availability. Haywood Community College’s Early Childhood Education Program is also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
