HHBS Open House

Haywood Community College Health, Human and Business Services Department to Hold Open House Thursday, April 4

Haywood Community College’s Health, Human and Business Services Department will hold an Open House on Thursday, April 4 from 5-7pm in the Juniper Building on the main campus. Programs that are part of the Health, Human and Business Services Department include: Medical Assisting, Medical Office Administration, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Cosmetology, Information Technology, Accounting, and Tourism.

Guests will be able to meet HCC’s instructors, receive department tours, and participate in interactive field-related demonstrations.

The variety of programs offered at HCC meet the needs of our community and beyond. These programs are grouped together into this department due to their commonality in working directly with customers in business settings. This open house is a great way to learn more about each program and talk with the instructors about the job market and salary potential.

Each program will feature an interactive demonstration allowing visitors to see the program in action and that field’s importance to the industry. From tools to find human veins, making an elevator pitch to a virtual audience, using code to control robots, and even investigating a crime scene, this is a great way to see nine different programs all in one place.

Jodi Wijewickrama, HCC’s Dean of Health, Human, and Business Services, says, “This open house was designed to give participants a feel for what it’s like to be a student in each of these programs. We are excited to provide an opportunity for everyone to meet our excellent faculty and experience the fields hands-on.”

Summer semester registration is currently open. Fall semester registration opens on Monday, March 25. For more information, visit haywood.edu or call 828-627-2821.
